She could hardly establish herself as an independent woman confined to the Orphanage.
(Keep’em barefoot in the winter and pregnant in the summer.)

Here on an island without money. She should have at least been sent to
the dratsaB’s headquarters in town.

They tried to overrule her direct experience of the nature of the gods when they knew
or should have known she had it. Perhaps the books they liked were as callous jejune as “Ordell’s
_Elements of Systematic Theology_ about the nature of the God’s as Casaril would later
find out when he encountered the Lady.

Ineffable experiences are ineffable, one can talk about the light shows, the gooseflesh, the
sensation of energy moving up the spine and all that, but these are merely symbolic and
can be distractions from what is the core and meaning.

“Nothing makes you act like a child than being treated like a child.” Cordelia

Penric will monitor the situation and intervene if necessary. Perhaps the gods want
to bring Ree and Chio together as part of their breeding program, similar to the
Arasians in the Lensman series. Any fan fic writer could go a long way with this
idea.
