In one of the comic strips a week ago - I think it was Foxtrot -the father and his two sons were watching a marathon of boxing-themed movies he day after Christmas, while the mother and daughter were indulgently, a bit irritatedly, putting up with it. Yes, as an American who reads, I got the joke.
