i think you are correct in your synopsis of the Fairy Godmother and some other more recent series. i loved the first one, but the two since seem to be much more simplistic than many of her previous books. they seem more young adult oriented than many of her more deeply plotted and developed characterizations. i have Fortune's Fool, but have found it nearly impossible for me to get interested in actually reading it as yet.

i recently reread the obscidian trilogy. quite good, though it is by Misty and a co author. have liked it best of misty's last several works i have bought and are still sitting on my shelves.

i was on the list back then too. it is sad to see many of the internet lists servs on things i am interested in go quiet, or just disappear into spamland.

Yeah, I remember that too. Those were the days. I
had quite a herd of vampire sheep back then. Here I
am, almost 10 years later, still a huge Mercedes fan,
but this list has gone quiet.

Yes, indeed, the new fairy tales are solo novels by
Misty, and I've enjoyed them too..but it seems like
they are getting to be a bit more cookie cutter than
her novels in the past. I know she now has a formula
with her new series...a setting and a general idea of
what works in that world, but the novels seem shorter
and less deep and detailed as previous books.

Well, it is nice to see some responses and activity on
here. :) Keep it up!
