Hey Bonnie,
I live in the San Bernardino mountains, in a small community called Forest Falls which is home to Southern California's largest year-round waterfall. Great little town of about 1,100 people and will never get any larger as we are surrounded by National Forest land. I'm up at about 6,000 foot elevation so I do get all four seasons. Was snowing this morning as I had left for work and am expecting more tonight.
I agree about the ideal evening. I generally have a fire every day during the winter. Add to your list a nice glass of wine and some music (although for a nice read, I'd probably go for some New Age or classical music instead of the kind my band does...) and I'd be set, although I do not have any pets.
Currently planning a trip to Seattle in April where I'll be taking the train back. As I will need lots of reading material, I know that The Last Hearld Mage will be going with me as it has on many of my travels....

Inspired by this thread, I pulled the Last Herald Mage series off my shelf for the umpteenth re-read ;-) Reading these books is comfort food...sort of like mac and cheese, a warm blanky and a cat on a cold night. Actually, mac and cheese, warm blanky, cat and reading the Vanyel series sounds like my ideal evening ;-)

Which SoCal mountains are being hailed from here? I currently reside in Altadena but used to live in Crestline.

  ;-)
  Bonnie

  Hello all,

Greetings from the SoCal mountains! Just a big ol' lurker here popping
in to say that I'm happy that the Halls are in use again...

I love all of Mercedes books, but out of them all, the Vanyel series are
still all of my favorites, followed by the Bard series. My copy of the
Last Hearld Mage trilogy has gotten so worn from reading that I'm
thinking of getting a new one, but the worn one is like an old friend.

Hope all is well with everyone,
Erik
