i didn't know anything about the mankind witch until this email. i checked on amazon and the one that came up with my search was by Dave Freer, with no mention of Mercedes Lackey. upon closer examination of the information on this title from amazon, this is a solo effort set in the world they both worked in before. i haven't ready any of this series though i own the first two. is this one worth reading?? seems that some of the solo efforts of other authors that M. Lackey has teamed with on other series haven't been as entertaining as the joint efforts.

Wow! This is very exciting! I haven't read the Mankind Witch, yet, but
I loved both of the others! They collaborated quite well, and while
there were places that you could tell/surmise who was writing which
character, as a whole it was nicely seamless. I have to say, though
that I was unsatisfied with the ending for This Rough Magic, and
wondered why they would go at it that way. Was very unhappy about the
obligatory "must kill one character that people have come to like". Why
do authors think that is necessary?
