The contrast between her and Calla attempting much the same elsewhere is both profound and sad....
Gwynne: When Calla did it, it was sad and desperate and brave. When Neeta did it, it was
selfish and calculating. Poor Dag, with women throwing themselves at him from all directions.
Mind you, I'll bet he never needed to have an empty bedroll, it was more his choice to
