In many ways, Dag and Neeta are opposites of each other.

Dag is looking out and wide, planning for a different future,
and taking on responsibility for everyone in his patrol, travelling
group, family, whatever. Old Patroller collects people and looks
after them.

Neeta is stuck on the old legends and songs. She's focussed on
herself, on her bright future, and has a rather exaggerated idea of
her own importance and ability.

She has no empathy, she divides her world into people who matter
(those who have some value to her) and people who don't. And
she has no care at all for those who don't matter - letting Fawn go
into the grave was horrendous, but not bothering to tell Vio that
her son was safe is almost as bad; she could have given that poor
woman so much ease with just a few words. And simply didn't bother.

Some of the cruellest acts are done so simply, with such ease. A
few words to save Fawn, to help Vio. And all Neeta did was turn away.

That's evil. We've just seen two malices and all their mud-stuff dealt
with, incredible danger faced and beaten. But it wasn't evil, it was
mindless and almost innocent in a way.

Neeta's actions were evil. She knew exactly what she was doing, and
was acting out of spite and selfishness.
