To me, a comedy is two people being wrong, but in two amusingly different
ways (say, THE WRONG BOX).

Melodrama is someone being right and someone being wrong with no shades of
gray. (so many examples!)

Tragedy? Two people being right--but in totally different ways. ANTIGONE,
for instance.
