A good argument for not adding pictures to pure text; less so for not
adding text to comics.

There is one more example: the comic Strangers in Paradise had a couple
instances where the creator reverted to columns of dialogue, I guess
feeling he needed a long conversation that didn't need lots of static
faces and speech bubbles.  (Especially as one of them was in bed.)
