[LMB] OT: Snarky Question

We were planning to have a parking lot service at my church for Easter. They tightened restrictions last night so the service has been canceled. We will still be streaming. My granddaughters were going to come by so we could see them in their car.

Christian, husband, father, granddaddy, son, American. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me.

The church service decision was arbitrary and increased risk by tying up a lot of police officers making people roll down their windows to accept tickets. Other places that had as many cars parked were not bothered even though those people were getting out of their cars. Thaw order came from the mayor and said that people couldn’t go to church.

I’m sorry you’re upset, William. We’re all upset, and dealing with things as best we can. I am extremely thankful for the fact I have influenza A and not Covid, for instance. Even a month ago, who would be happy to think they had the ‘flu? I’m also extremely thankful that I live in the most isolated capital city in the world, population density is extremely low and I have a back garden I can walk around in. However, even here, all the public play grounds and tennis/basketball/netball are closed, beaches are closely monitored and all public restaurants are closed apart from phone ahead takeaways. Churches were closed weeks ago. If it’s good enough for 1.2 billion catholics to stay home I think your mayor did the right thing. What if that young girl had leaned up against the basket support, used the drinking fountain, or even dripped sweat on the ground? We need to suck it up and do what we’re told. BECAUSE most people here have done what they’re told there are only just over 500 cases in a State that measures 2.64 million sq km. These really restrictive measures DO work. Hang in there. We’ll come round, some day.
