[LMB] OT: More words that I HATE!!

I have a mostly Philadelphia accent. I pronounce, at least slightly, some of the letters that are silent in other accents.

Christian, husband, father, granddaddy, son, American. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me.

I am not looking; I am listening. The OED, which you do have to pay for,
includes sound examples of U.K. and American pronunciations of its
words, and you can hear the 'l' in each case.
